Cuchulainn Hurling Club was founded in 1945 as part of the Christian Brothers’ Past Pupils Union. In 1949 its name was changed to Cuchulainn Hurling Club. Since its inception fifteen members have represented Ulster at Provincial level, the most recent representative, Declan Coulter, also represented Ireland in the Shinty International series.

In 1977 the Cuchulainn Hurling Club won Division Three of the Antrim League and in 1988 won promotion to Division One where it was able to remain for a few seasons.

In 1980 as part of the “Allied Irish Bank Club of the Year Awards”, Cúchulainns were adjudged to be the “Best Club” in Ireland with less than one hundred members.

Currently, over 100 young/underage players are playing in u10, u12, u14, U16 & U18 competitions with many showing great potential in becoming a modern day Cuchulainn.
