Sean Treacys founded in 1973 as a hurling Club in the Lurgan North Armagh area. The Club had early success in 1975 winning an Armagh Minor championship and contesting 2 Armagh Senior championship finals in 1977 and 1978. The Club had to wait a further 28 years before winning an Armagh Junior championship.
During the late 70’s the Club was represented on the County team by Conor McGeown, Other players who represented the Club on county teams were Cathal Austin, Chris Shine and Paul Welsh. Currently the Club has 5 senior county panelists, Chris McAlinden, Anthony Carville, Raymond Daly and Brendan Coleman representing Armagh and Paddy Devine representing Tyrone.
A major achievement for the Club was the award of a Nicky Rackard 15 Allstar to Chris McAlinden in 2007 as part of the Armagh Team that contested the Nicky Rackard final
