An Ceide Lamh Dhearg Mid Night Hurling League - Week 2 Update.
With the half way point of the qualifiers now reached there is no clear pattern developing apart from the 100% record of the Young Irelands staying in tact although some might say they were very fortunate on a couple of occasions on Friday past. Their first outing was against Damien’s Devils who really put it up the men in orange and certainly in the first 4 four minutes the Devils seemed the better side and at the end of the game many observers thought the game finished 5 each but the referee had a 5 to 4 scoreline in favor of the Young Irelands due to goal from the Devils being disallowed due to the twice in the hand rule.
All in all it was a mixed night for Damien’s Devils with them pulling of two great wins and an equal number of defeats as they dropped one place in the table. Replacing them at number 2 is Super Sumos who scored a fantastic 31 goals on Friday night, a score which was only surpassed by Liam Ducks who notched up an incredible 37 net breakers. Unfortunately for the Ducks while their front men swaggered, their backs waddled and leaked an equally incredible 41 goals. Maybe the keeper has something to do with this but no doubting the management team with be looking for answers.
Tiny’s Angels also had a very mixed night with them winning their first two games before being slammed by the Young Irelands and Liam Ducks. The biggest developments were happening at the bottom of the table with the shares for Bubba Gump Shrimp Corporation sinking fast with them going home pointless on Friday night, while the Underdogs are now finding their feet with two great wins against Bubba Gump and Liam Ducks.
All this adds to the excitement of this event and to date after two nights hurling there has been 291 goals scored which is fantastic.
The third round games will commence at 8pm sharp on Friday night on the Astro Turf at Keady High School and all the players are asked to be signed in for 7.30pm.
