David Coldrick from Meath will referee this year's All-Ireland football final between Cork and Down.

At the end of the day I will always support an Ulster team in an AI Final as much as it sticks in the gut. The fact remains Down are in the Final and a big part of that reason I feel is their arrogance something Armagh football does not possess. We are in fact the opposite we have a loosing mentality and I fear we always will! '53, '61, '77, '80 '82, '85, '92 '94 and much of our golden era is littered with games we should have won. Someone on here said without the qualifiers we'd have won 2/3 All Irelands. We didn't but Kerry and Tyrone did. We are too quick to trot out excuses and wait for next year in Armagh it maddens me and always will. We do not learn from our mistakes like the Down's of this world do. In 1990 they list the league Final to Meath, 15 months later they beat them in the AI Final. This year they lost to us in the Division 2 Final and yet they are in the Final and we're argueing about not playing Marty O'Rourke against Dublin. Even our Mionrs this year reverted to type gifting Cork 2-2 and a place in the AI semi final. It's like it's a disease. Part of the reason I was so keen to see some if not a lot of last years minors in the senior panel is because they must possess a winning attitude. Beating Tyrone in injury time, Down in the Ulster Final, Kerry in the AI semi final and winning the final. These lads must have something about them and it must be utilised ASAP. We as fans must also believe and not always look for the negative in the future. I really feel we've missed a chance in Armagh to establish a dynasty we must not miss it again.

Yes, it seems that booing has become more frequent among many county's supporters. This year I've even seen fans booing the opposition when they take the field before the match. Its not nice, and I don't like seeing this in the GAA. I would never boo any player or team, not even Tyrone!

good post pat , i agree it has no place in our game , and armagh fans have never booed as much as the likes of down did last week or dublin who constantly do it .

Down fans did boo a few times on Sunday. Dublin fans were a disgrace against Armagh in the qualifiers. They booed every time Armagh got a free kick or for Hearty's kick-outs, as well as other occasions. It was disgusting.

My young nephew was at that match with us, and I remember he asked me, "Why are they always booing Armagh?". I told him that's what you expect from the Dubs. I also warned him not to be booing them, as you would be lowering yourself to their pathetically low levels. But thats not the only reason. We don't need this kind of crap in the GAA.

Sadly, I think the adults are as bad as the kids where booing is concerned. My Da would've clipped me round the ear for booing when I was a kid - or an adult for that matter! I would do the same if I had kids.

Some precious souls here. If a bit of booing is the worst of our problems, we're not doing too badly.

so what if someone boos, does it really matter? I think it all adds to the atmosphere!
I for one will be fully behind Down in the final.

    Up Down! :)

I was booing (and cursing) Down in front of the TV on Sunday.
I can remember the Kerry flags up in rostrevor in 2002 and the Tyrone Flags in Newry and Wpoint in 2003. I dont really feel like breaking that cycle so Ill be wearing A Cork jersey on All Ireland final day in one of the local public houses.
    UP CORK!
