Default Football player of the year

    Who is it for you?

Brogan and Johnny Doyle would be leading the betting I would imagine.

Graham O'Reilly and Marty Clarke have impressed.

    From PP:

GAA 2010 Footballer of the Year

    Bernard Brogan 13/8
    John Doyle 11/4
    Martin Clarke 9/2
    Graham Canty 9/1
    Bennie Coulter 10/1
    Daniel Goulding 12/1
    Pearse O'Neill 14/1
    James Kavanagh 18/1

The Cork lads are the best value for me, I still think they'll come out on top and it takes something special for a player outside the champions to win it.

Possible canidate for young player of the year :
    Donie Shine

Possible canidate for player of the year :
Bernard Brogan (without a doubt especially as dublin are through to the semis with Brogan being top scorer with an average of just under 7 points a game)

Well normally it depends on who wins the All-Ireland as it is normally a player from that team. But if it was being picked today i would say Brogan would be the winner

    James Kavanagh.

Another man (taken off in the last few games) who was exceptional last year and had another great year is Emmett Bolton. A class act. Doyle and Brogan have to be considered, mind you Doyle had a bit of a mare against Monaghan for long periods.

I would definitely not consider Marty Clarke, he's been very in and out had his best game by some way against Dublin (based on the televised Down games).

Maybe he has a higher points to game ratio but Doyle is the top scorer in the championship albeit with more games played.

I think Bernard Brogan will win the player of the year award quite easily, the amount of scores and the quality of them, he has ammassed in a side that is set up so defensively is quite remarkable.

Young player of the year-So far the leading contenders are Donal Shine, Rory O'Carroll and Marty Clarke, I think Shine will win it for his performances in the Connaught final and the All Ireland quarter final.

Would agree with that statement. Clarkes a very overrated footballer in my opinion. People are just obsessed with him because he came home from Australia....
