    Lads, I would simply say this is a credit crunch issue.

    County boards need to tighten the strings.

    According to BBC the Galway County Board wanted a change in Kernans backroom team, this was likley to add to Kernans decsion

    I think we are all dancing around the real issue, the Galway Co Board were no longer willing to pay for the entourage that Joe had brought on board, (especially family connections!).

    This was clearly outlined at the meeting Joe had with Galway Co Board and was to be part of the next years set up - hence Joe's resignation.

    Agree with previous posters Galways record of late has been poor and they haven't got the players. So Joe's move there has been initially a surprise ie to Galway, then obviously he overloads the backroom staff at a cost and Galway have felt the cost was too high - somebody has caught on!!
