Default Worried About Pitch Invasions but Not Smoking inside Croker??

Just returned from watching a thrilling semifinal double bill in Croke Park, congratulations to both winners but sympathies to the losers as both lost in heartbreaking circumstances.

Was in the Hill and the barrier isn't that bad and from what I can work out there are removable sections if the crowd needed released through the front onto the pitch.

However, I spent the whole day being clouded in smoke from at least 10 people in my proximity who puffed continually throughout the second game in particular.

    Not a steward in sight.

Now if my reading of the legislation is correct if this happened in a pub the landlord is responsible and would be fined per individual infringement, up to Euro 1,000/case with closure for continual infringements.

Croke Park have clear signs stating the standing area ie Dineen Hill is a no smoking area, why are they not enforcing it and why are they getting away with not enforcing it??

Its hard for the GAA to do anything especially when some of the stewards are smoking at the grounds during games.
I witnessed it myself in Tullamore at the Limerick Offaly hurling qualifier. The steward walked down to one of the gates that lets you access the pitch from the stand. Every now and then you could see him take a quick drag on his cigarette, while trying to hide it from everyone, at the same time the PA system was announcing "No smoking the Stand".

Too busy collecting rather than enforcing - the Health issues around smoking are documented and a matter of fact in law!
