    Default Nicky Rackard Cup 2010

    Round 1

    Armagh 3-15
    Fingal 1-12

Good win, but with a very dodgy second half showing. Armagh went 14 or 15 points up after about 40/ 45 minutes, but then switched off. Fingal had the gap back to down six as the game entered injury time, before Armagh got a goal with the last piece of action to push it back out to nine. Out again next Saturday. Not sure who it'll be against. It's either Louth, Roscommon or London/ Sligo.

Other round 1 results from today:

    Louth 3-17 1-07 Tyrone, Dundalk
    Roscommon 4-16 0-18 Monaghan, Athleague
    London v Sligo on Sunday

    Round 2A

    Armagh 4-26
    London 2-23

    After Extra Time

Really good entertainment of a Saturday afternoon. With their extra man, London looked like they were going to pull away a couple of times in at the end only for Armagh to get the goals to drag them back. Once they got back to 15 in extra time, Armagh were too strong and pulled away handy enough. Don't really know enough to criticise the ref, but the rest in attendance weren't too happy with him. Sent off both Armagh midfielders, McCann in normal time and Breen in extra time, for innocuous enough infringements. He also gave a free for overcarrying despite no one having possession of the ball. Thought that was a bit odd. I'd say Ryan Gaffney was the pick for Armagh. Into the semi final now, probably favourites.

Big game at 5.00pm today in Cavan. Due to those in charge of scheduling not caring about the promotion of hurling, unfortunately very few will forego the football to travel to it. Surely it would've made an excellent curtain raiser in Crossmaglen today? A win would see Armagh through to face London in an All Ireland final in Croke Park in a couple of weeks. All the best.

Good luck to everyone involved with the County hurlers this weekend for the Nicky Rackard Final. Great achievement to get to Croke Park for another final. This time to go one better!

Great stuff Minor & Senior hurlers making finals of some significance well done to both teams. Hope the minor lads weren't to disappointed, many of them should be bolstering our Senior ranks for years to come, they should be proud of their efforts - Good Luck on Sat in the Nicky Rackard
