Armagh played Sligo this morning in Maghery in a challenge game . Armagh won by 1 point but after changes at half-time the second half was not so good for Armagh. I have to say we have the makings of a good team there.

Just called the County Board and they have confirmed that the U-21 game against Donegal will take place this Wednesday in Brewster park, Enniskillen at 8.00pm.

For those unable to make it, Highland Radio usually cover these games and you can tune in online.

Anyone fancy a stab at the team?

Who'll mark Murphy? Not many senior players across the country up to the task, and I don't see many stand out options in our panel there.

Were we not meant to be at home for this?

Jesus is the manbeast still U21? If he is i'd play whoever we want to at fullback and drop someone like McKenna in alongside.

A case for double-markig if ever I saw it.

    M McConville, D McKenna
    G McParland, R Grugan,
    J Clarke, F Hanratty,
    C Rafferty
    E McVerry
    A Duffy,
    D Comiskey
    M Shields,

Don't know all the players but of thoes I do, Id say these will all feature. The ones in bold I presume are gimmies.

I'd say Decky McKenna could be deployed to mark Murphy. He's a big, strong lad, excellent fielder and a great reader of the game. He can pick put a pass too. May be a bit much to expect for one just out of minor, but, Club bias aside, I think he may be most suited to try and nulify the big Donegal man.

Of the options, and overseeing his youth, he was the name that jumped out at me. Shields would be an atatck-minded cb wouldn't he?

That said, and no disrespect to Decky, I think he'd need help as every fullback in Ireland seems to when they come up against Hulk.

I wonder what the other Donegal forwads are like. Would double marking Murphy perhaps give freedom to another deadly sharp-shooter?

Corn, I think Shields is an excellent prospect. Great at going forward with pace and an eye for a score.

Grugan is the type of player the senior team is crying out for. A creative, scoring forward. Wish he was a couple of years older.
