    Default Armagh v Cork - NFL Round 1 - Sunday 5 Feb

Discuss your team selections etc on the Armagh v Cork league match in here

League will be a huge ask. Avoiding relegation would be a very positive outcome.

Don't know much about new recruits so guessing team for Cork, think he might go something like..

    McEvoy
    Mallon Donaghy McKenna
    Duffy McKeever Dyas

    Mackin Lavery

    Vernon O'Rourke R Rafferty
    McVerry Swift Campbell

If we can sneak a win against Laois and with Donegal missing big Murphy I think we can stay up. Getting a result at home against Mayo is now looking a must.

I cant see any of your clubmen starting the first league game Corn. I think McEvoy may have slipped down the pecking order. If Armagh have to play Mal Mackin midfield it really doesn't say a lot for the midfielders on the panel.

Oversight, big fan of Anto. He will start. This isn't my team, it's what I am expecting.

Hermit, not sure of McEvoy situation, but I think it might be the opposite, the McKenna Cup being used to find who will be on the panel with him. I imagine him and Geoghan will rotate.

Dyas was away on college duty, but I couldn't think who has been playing hb there in McKenna Cup?

Surprised by some of the team choices. Brian Mallon gets an awful hard time on this board from some. Noticeable he hasn't been picked in any of the team selections above.

Did MOR play last night? He didn't play on Sunday and not sure he played the whole match in Down.

The one player who i think has a chance of starting in the National league is Forker. Intelligent and can take a point

I don't think Rafferty will start, and definitely not in the HF line. Swap him for Duffy or Padden and you mightn't be too far away.

Forget about Forker too by God. What about Mallon's injury, is it a knock or more.

Based on what I have seen in the McKenna Cup I would say

    McAvoy or Geoghan
    Mallon Donaghy McKenna
    duffy Mckeever Dyas
    Vernon Lavery
    Mackin O'Rourke Duffy
    McVerry Padden Campbell

Would like to see how Kingham would go but Cork would be a big ask. Would also think that the taller players will get a run against Cork but Carville's or Rafferty could get a run out late on. Swift will probably suffer due to rustiness but could have a role depending on how match is going. McVerry and Campbell need to stand up and be counted. They did well in last couple of matches but one will make debut as chief free taker. Forked may not be strong enough yet for a half forward role against Cork.
