That's harsh enough lad, everyone had an off day really.

Toner has been excellent this year, we all know Vernon's talent and Lavery is starting to prove the doubters wrong.

    They're stil loyung and learning.

    They're still young and learning.
Yeah, it's worth remembering that when **** Clerkin, Paul Finlay and Eoin Lennon were those lads' ages they were getting spanked about the place by 15 points by an experienced Armagh side. I'm sure they learned a lot that day, and I'm confident our lads will learn from their experience too.

Exactly they suprised armagh in 2003 but the next year THEIR young team were put to the sword by armaghs EXPERIENCED outfit....but the ONE thing i remember from that day was that armagh players weren't celebrating or laughing with each other with ten minutes to go unlike monaghon on sunday and if the cureent armagh team need any EXTRA motivation to realise their potential (and lets be honest they have potential but that doesnt mean they will be successful) then the images of players laughing at them should be enough.

Round 1 is on the 26th I think.

If we get a home draw you'd imagine Clones would have to be in with a decent shout. Newry too maybe. Can't see us rushing back to Casement anytime soon.

Wonder if it was say London we drew (say your prayers) would Cross be acceptable? Other than that probably Clones.

Think there's a bit of a difference to point out here though. That Armagh team were extremely experienced and had won Sam Maguire and a few Ulsters. They were a team on a mission after being knocked out of Ulster by Monaghan the year before, and there was the feeling a hammering could be dished out. This Monaghan team have won no championship silverware and are striving for an Ulster this year, so I wouldn't be going over the top complaining about them enjoying themselves during that game, I'm sure they themselves wouldn't have thought they win by that margin. And when **** Clerkin is putting over points like that near the end, well I'm not surprised they were celebrating that to be honest! If the players use it as motivation to improve though(not that they need motivation), then fair enough.

Good point all the same with the comparison of that game in 2004 and this one. It's shows the experience of this Monaghan team and how long they've been on the road, 9/10 of those players that featured that day played for Monaghan on Sunday.

To be honest, with only 11,000 at casement and not many more at Celtic Park (both Ulster championship matches, ithink there is a strong case for a qualifier to be played at Cross.
