Martin played very well and Donegal's lack of effort was a perfect chance for him to get over Monaghan. I don't think he'll start against Fermanagh, not in defence anyway.

Is it a given it will be Brewster Park? Not the worst draw but thats the 4th Ulster team in a row for us in the qualifiers. Limerick in 2003 was the last non-Ulster side if memory serves me correctly. Waterford in Cross would have been the preferred choice but as a lot of people have said if we can't beat Fermanagh at this stage we've no business thinking about the tail end of the Championship.

Team I'd like to see, if the short term injured are all back:

    Hearty

    Mallon Donaghy Duffy/ Dyas

    Moriarty McKeever Dyas/ Duffy

    Toner Lavery

    Hanratty/ Mallon Kernan Vernon

    McDonnell Clarke Swift

Not sure about Dyas in the corner, remembering him starting out there for the minors when he was still 15. Mightn't have played in that position since, so it mightn't work. Just trying to squeeze him in with Moriarty's likely return. Bit harsh on Martin if he loses his place, he was good on Saturday. Although, I'd worry about him on stronger opposition, just don't think he's sticky enough to play in an intercounty FB line. Maybe if Fermanagh go with both Carson and Quigley in the forward line Martin could be retained for one of them. The rest of the back line picks itself.

Toner and Lavery have probably established themselves as our first choice midfield pairing, and if either is fit they should come straight back in.

Vernon has to be accommodated somewhere, straight swap for Duffy/ Feeney seems sensible, even though both did alright in their spells at the weekend. I thought Hanratty did well on his debut and would have no worries about him continuing, but I also feel Brian Mallon has done better than than most give him credit for this year. Mallon would probably use the ball a bit better, but Hanratty is a stronger ball carrier and would win more frees.

FF duo is a given. Swift to come out towards the middle, with licence to raid forward when the opportunity arises.

Any word on Duffy? Or Moriarty, Lavery, Toner, Clarke, O'Rourke, etc. for that matter?

Don't know really, although I was at the match, I couldn't venture an informed opinion other than he seemed to make a few bogey passes and a few dodgy shots. His over all play may well have been ok but he didn't stand out, good or bad. I'll leave it to the 'experts' to make a call on that!

Dublin 03. The best 35 minutes Armagh have ever played for me.

Well it was the draw i was hoping for as it will giave Amragh a tough but very winnable match, which is want you want in the qualifers. Watched Fermanagh yesterday and they were shocking and there is no doubt they have went backwards from 2008. Overall i would be confident of Amragh beating them, as cant see thier fowards posing any real threat to be honest, and feel their defence may struggle to contain Jamie Clarke and McDonnell. The team i would like to see play would be if everyone is back from injury would be:

    Hearty
    Mallon Donaghy Finn Mo
    Duffy McKeever Dyas
    Toner Lavery
    Vernon Kernan Mallon
    Clarke McDonnell Swift

Think this team defiently has the quality to beat Fermanagh and we have good options on the bench such as Hanratty, Feeney, Forker, Tony Keran, MOR, Mackin, Shannon, McKewon

Vincie Martin could do a job on Carson or R Gallagher come to think of it (even Quigley wouldn't have the pace to scare him). AS POR seems to be a fan he will probably start.

Neither Duffy nor Dyas are Corner backs and it would be a poor decision to either play there.

    Hearty
    Mallon Donaghy Martin
    Duffy McKeever Dyas
    Toner Lavery
    Vernon Kernan Swift
    Clarke McDonnell Mallon

Stefan Forker might not be on any bench for the Fermanagh game . Rumour has it and I stress rumour (although very strong )says he has walked of the panel. If that is true I cant say I blame him . To sit back and watch three u-21s walk onto the team in front of you when you really have not done a lot wrong is baffling to say the least. I have nothing against the three lads Jamie Anto and Francie but I do strongly feel that Stefan has been very harshly treated. He is a good forward who can score and would have surely merited at least a run on Sat late on in the game . The lads confidence must be shattered.

if true it would be a pity as I thought he should have came on for the last 15-20 mins for Stevie. Excellent player but I wouldn't blame him.
no matter which great player we think of they all started their careers at a club - the club is the cornerstone of the GAA foundation - lets keep it that way

    I would blame him.

It's not like the Monaghan keeper thing when the boy had no choice but to walk.

It's not like the fringe players who drop off the panel after realising they are not going to ge tgame time.

He could react in two ways. Keep plugging away and try to force his way in, or walk. Barry Shannon is in excatly the same position as him, but I don't think he'll walk, i'd expect him to keep fighting - and I know which of those two routes i'd prefer a player to take.

Then again, it could all be balls.
