VIDEO| Armagh play Galway as Clonmore open new facilities - Armagh GAA
May I take this opportunity to thank all those who came to Robert Emmett park on Sunday for the official opening of our new pitch and clubrooms. it was heartening to see a good turn out but it was even more heartening to see many many fellow gaels throw in well and above the admission fee of £5 . Their genorosity has been noted and we once again thank all those many gaels who contributed handsomely . One fellow gael arrived and threw in £50 even though he could only stay for a few minutes. It's people like this man and others who make it all worthwhile. The GAA is a big family and when in need we support each other . Never was this more evident than on Sunday.gaels travelled from the fartherest end of the county to lend their support.... We were blessed with the weather indeed at one stage it was 27 degrees about 3pm. One could only feel for the footballers on the pitch. Lets hope thats not the summer over. The game itself was disappointing and while Galway had a near full strength team Armagh feilded a much weaker side with a few players being brought in for the occassion. But thats the way it is . We would love to have armagh field a stronger team (no disrespect to those who played)but I am sure Paddy O Rourke has more things to worry about than Clonmore's new pitch and clubrooms. In all though we had a day to remember for the gaels of this small club . Our membership is less than seventy but despite the size we have a big heart. Thanks to all those who helped in any way .Particularly the Galway team who were superb ambassadors for their county and Big Joe who was and is an absolute gentleman. To the armagh county board chairman Paul Duggan the Armagh team and in particular Paul kelly who did his very best to facilitate us at all times a very big thank you. Thanks also to the Pease Og club for help advice and use of bunting flags etc. When asked they werent found wanting.
Days like last Sunday come only maybe once in a lifetime for a small club like ours but it has and I hope will continue to leave an indellible mark on the community and the GAA in the area for years to come . To all Gaels a very sincere Go raibh Mile maith agat.
Congrats Gar a credit to all involved, well done and you are a beacon of light to all 'small clubs' out there who feel that they need a way fwd.
Every Single Ball!!
Saranbhoy surprised that you can't get your own players name spelt correctly, can excuse Irish News, (just about), but surely your club should get it right - COMISKEY, hope they got the David bit right or are there a number of ways of spelling this aswell!!!!

The name was spelt incorrectly and has been on a number of occasions.
How must this guys family feel?
Worse still when his own clubman does it!!
He is a v Good prospect for our seniors in years to come, the least he and his family deserves is proper PR coverage when he is doing well.

ONLY in ARMAGH
Every Single Ball!!
sliothar, a spelling mistake is hardly a big deal to anyone even if it is their surname. Most people I know can't even SAY my surname, never mind spell it.
