Big step up frpm Laois, but we went down there last year and got a great victory. If I remember correctly Toner and Vernon had blinders in MF that day against much vaunted opposition, the same will be required again although I'm not sure if Charlie will make it for Sunday.

This is a strange game. It has me thinking more of the POR situation. With Geezer and AOR it puts things into perspective. How much can they want Armagh to lose that game. I know they have a job to do and will do their upmost to get results and I'm not for one minute suggesting that they don't want Kildare to win on Sunday but is there not a small part of them wants Armagh to win?

This is a lesser scenario than that which faces POR. Armagh play Down, their fiercest rivals will POR not have split loyalties? Would that not be the natural thing?

I know people are going to come back and say all that goes out the window, money talks, they've a job to do etc and need a professional approach but all that is easier said than done. Just thinking about the Kildare game has made me think more of the POR situation. There's food for thought there...

After the way Paddy Orourke was treated in Down he may feel he has a point to prove and if it involves using Armagh well then I have no problem with that. Paddy may love his native county and no-one can blame him for that but he was treated poorly by the powers that be and I do know that he feels he was shafted and has been very bitter about it.

    Not one iota!!!!!!!!!!

It would give them great pleasure to see Armagh off, you can be sure of that.

Hmmm....There isn't much at stake, what about in an AI semi Final with a sea of orange and white in croker? I'm not so sure, they could experience a weak moment. Anyway, I might destroy the thread if I keep going on about it. I'm sure members are more concerned with possible line-ups and predictions.

POR will want Armagh to win and McGeeney will want Kildare to win...simple as that. They wouldn't be in the jobs they're in if they didn't.

I would expect Armagh to lift it a few notches to beat Kildare as i fully expect them to come here pumped up with fire in the belly and they certainly have the players to beat Armagh if we're not on top of our game.
I always decide...just ask the men on the canvas

I think before Geezer made his decision to accept the Kildare job he would have thought about the scenario of meeting Armagh. Geezer will be preparing his team in the same way he did in the lead up to last week's game against Donegal. In saying that, I'd hate to be in Geezer's shoes if it turns out to be Armagh - Kildare in the AI Final!!

Sunday will prove our toughest game to date. During the first 3 games we have played brilliant attacking football in bit parts. On Sunday we need to move forward again and try and dominate a game for longer spells. I suspect a high scoring game is on the cards and goals could win this.

Still want to see Toner in at FB. He played so well there during the McKenna and I think our defence would be even stronger with him in it. So my team for Sunday will be this but unlikely.....

It's valid discussion to the match. Carry on.

I have absolutely no doubt that if it was a semi-final, an All-Ireland final, a firendly or whatever, McGeeney and O'Rourke would be as committed to beating Armagh as they would Tyrone.

Armagh's performances to date, have been nothing but improving. I have been very pleased to see improvements all over the field. I think Kildare will be a welcome task for our boys, and I can surely see them over coming kildare, a much tougher task but one they will lift themselves up to. Armagh by 2
