good stats, slightly worried about your mental state now but hey ho. do you have the stats for any of the early qualifiers (that werent double headers)? I would say that most of the early rounds here are against Tyrone which I said were heavily attended and I would question the 06 Monaghan match stats but whatever. Slightly surprised by the attendances of 2 or 3 of the early matches having been at them. Also, anything from semi final on I did say would have been better attended once the bandwagon started rolling.

Don't let that bother you at all - the men in white coats look after my every need.

    I don't to be honest, as you made it clear you were only interested in comparing like for like when you said;

There is though clear evidence from the figures, that non Tyrone preliminary and first round matches were more heavily attended than those we have seen this year.

With regard to the 2006 Monaghan match, it was the game played in Clones in a deluge. It was the match where Ciaran McKinney did nets and had a stormer. The reason I remember the attendance so well was that we had a guest over from Aberdeen, attending her first ever Gaelic match. We drew the attendance figure to her attention when it was announced over the PA system.

    Eureka!!

no,no thats fair enough, I was honestly just wondering if you had the qualifier stats because this is perhaps where I should have been talking about re. the lower attendances.
Derry, Limerick etc were death as far as memory serves

also, "whatever" wasnt meant in a What-EVA! type way, just meant, ok.

    No worries kid!

There is a fella on the Board here who might have all the attendance stats. I'd love to see them all myself to be honest!!

I thought myself that 11000 was a very low turn out. Armagh did have teh vast majority though. Monaghan's turn=out was poor. The national league tie in Newry had more .
This is the lowest turn-out for an Armagh championship game in a long time that isn't all ticket.
I would say roughly around half.
truth be told in the years from 99 to 02 and from 02 until possibly 07 we were one of the big three Tyrone kerry and Armagh.
We were the top attraction , not anymore , Expectations are not there . Deep down we still believe we are in transition and making slow but sure progress. Realistically we are hoping for an All-Ireland quater-final anything more than that was well and truly shattered last Sunday

i Can confirm the following lowest attendance levels at any Ulster Football game (excluding replays)from 2003 to 2008.

    2003 - Antrim-Cavan: 8,312 (next lowest: Ferm-Donegal: 14,500)
    2004 - Donegal-Antrim: 14,526 (next lowest: Down-Cavan: 21,326 !!)
    2005 - Cavan-Antrim : 10,500 (next lowest: Monaghan-Derry: 16,314)
    2006 - Fermanagh-Antrim: 6,500 (next lowest: Donegal-Down: 12,000)
    2007 - Fermanagh-Tyrone: 12,500 (next lowest: Cavan-Down: 13,500)
    2008 - Antrim-Cavan : 6,500 (next lowest: Fermanagh-Monaghan: 14,500)

Attendances have defo dropped off based on that! The common denominator on the low figures tends to be Antrim/Fermanagh. Otherwise, the lowest attendances are well above 12,000!

On the issue of attendence; I feel that the general perception amongst supporters that the standard of the game is going to be very poor. Also a lot of people are currently unemployed, meaning they can no longer afford to go to the games.
