06.03.2010 (Sat) Laois v Armagh
any predictions on score or team selection?
My choice for the Laois is:
1 McEvoy
2 Mallon
3 Toner
4 Shannon
5 Duffy
6 McKeever
7 Moriarty
8 Vernon
9 Lavery
10 Feeney
11 A Kernan
12 Swift
13 McDonnell
14 Clarke(if fit)
15 T.Kernan
I think it will be tougher than some expect. Armagh to win by 2 points.
It depends on what Armagh/Laois team shows up. If Armagh play like they did against Westmeath, then we'll win. Don't like Laois or their supporters so I hope we do well against them.
Team selection will be interesting.
I’m expecting:
Hearty
Mallon
Donaghy
Duffy
Moriarty
McKeever
P Kernan
Lavery
Toner
Swift
AK
Mackin
McDonnell
Clarke
Henderson
I’d like:
McEvoy
Shannon
Donaghy
Mallon
Duffy
McKeever
Dyas
Vernon
Toner
Swift
AK
Feeney
McDonnell
Clarke
Mallon
I would go for:
McEvoy
Mallon
Donaghy
Kernan
Duffy
McKeever
Dyas
Vernon
Toner
Swift
AK
Feeney
McDonnell
Clarke
Mallon
Armagh manager Paddy O'Rourke is braced for a Laois backlash.
The Orchard County's next NFL Division Two outing is against the O'Moore County in Portlaoise on Saturday March 6 and O'Rourke believes Laois - who lost their two opening matches - will respond like a wounded animal.
"Without a doubt, they'll be a different side from the one that lost to Donegal," he notes.
"Traditionally, the third game's always hard. The break gives the teams with no points a chance to regroup and come out strong. We're aware of that.
"Laois have no points. They'll have their players back from suspension and the Portlaoise players back.
"They'll be getting themselves really geared up because they could be in danger of getting relegated if they lose three in a row."
on form, i dont see how Moriarty can be dropped
1 McEvoy
2 Mallon
3 Donaghy
4 Shannon
5 Duffy
6 McKeever
7 Moriraty
8 Vernon
9 Toner
10 Swift
11 Aaron Kernan
12 Feeney
13 Stevie McDonnell
14 Clarke
15 Henderson
i think Feeney, Swift & Henderson all warrant onther crack at it. Last chance for a couple I think though, but the quality of the ball in to them will also have to improve. Particularly to the full forward line as a whole (ie not everything going to Stevie).
anyone going down to the match? I hope to make it myself - leave around 3-3:30pm get there around 6-6:30pm(ish). Bite to eat, good win, and then a blast back up the road. Thankfully the pitch is a few 100yds of the main road
