Have heard a few rumours flying about that Clarke wont play again this summer and possibly never again. But ive heard a lot of rumours involving Armagh over the last few years. So can anyone confirm Clarkes postion is he injured or will he be fit for the first round of the qualifers. Find it a bit strange that last week he declared himself fit but now there are serious rumours flying about reagarding his Armagh future
no matter which great player we think of they all started their careers at a club - the club is the cornerstone of the GAA foundation - lets keep it that way
seriously what is the injury clarke has and how did he get it it would be a terrible blow if he had to quit not only to ogs and armagh but to the game and himself as hes only 27 and still hasnt fully peaked in my eyes
If he has any sense he'll write the year off, but I know he's a committed Ogs man and will want to play in the club championship come August, could be to his detriment over the longterm thou.
RTÉ Sport: GAA - Ronan Clarke suffers injury setback
Armagh's Ronan Clarke has suffered an injury setback and there are fears he could be set for another long spell on the sidelines.
He spent most of the Allianz NFL recovering from an Achilles injury but is out again and will now miss Armagh's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Qualifier with Donegal on Sunday week.
Manager Paddy O'Rourke said of Clarke's injury in hoganstand.com: 'He'll be out of football for some time. I'm not sure for how long, but he'll not be playing against Donegal.'
Of the draw with Donegal, O'Rourke said: 'It's a very tough draw for us. But the draw is made and we will just get on with it.
'I'd imagine that most Ulster counties would be hoping to be drawn against someone from outside the province. Donegal are a very good side, as they showed against Down. They were unlucky not to be in the Ulster semi-final.'
