If the old memory serves me right it was in the early 70`s maybe 72 or 73. The Co.Board then got Peter Maken to look at armagh football in general and he was the man credited with the recovery in that period.

in which year were armagh against tyrone in dungannon in the league or mckenna cup but armagh couldnt field a team, any one know

It was 1973 in o'neil park > I was there, Micky Hughes Jackie Duffy and another Tyrone player dawned the Armagh Jersey. Following a meeting the Parochial hall in armagh which I was at. It was decided to do a root and branch reasearch of Armagh football. Tom Lynch from carrickcuppin I think was chairman (a real gentleman) Fr Peter Mackem at the time undertook the task and in !974 Gerry O'Neil Was appointed as Armagh Manager. I was lucky enough to be in his first squad.
